Prof. Dr. med. habil. Uwe Paasch ist Facharzt für Dermatologie und Venerologie mit den Zusatzbezeichnungen Allergologie, Dermatohistopathologie und Andrologie. Seine umfangreiche Expertise wird durch die Spezialisierung im Bereich Licht & Laser in der Dermatologie, operative Dermatologie, Wundheilung dermatologische Kosmetologie, Balneophototherapie, Kinderdermatologie und dem dermatologischen Labor der Allergologie und Mykologie komplettiert. 

Nach Abschluss des Humanmedizin-Studiums absolvierte Prof. Paasch seine Facharztausbildung an der Hautklinik in Leipzig und erwarb dort auch die Promotion, Habilitation und Professur. Seit 2001 ist Prof. Paasch dort als Oberarzt im Universitäts-Hautklinikum tätig.

Mit Beginn 2015 ist Prof. Uwe Paasch in den Hautarztpraxen in Jesewitz und Taucha bei Leipzig mit Dr. med. Hartmut Paasch, der diese 1971 gründete niedergelassen.

Der vielseitige Tätigkeitsbereich in den dermatologischen Praxen in Jesewitz und Taucha bei Leipzig wird zudem durch Behandlungen der ästhetischen Medizin vervollständigt. 
Neben Methoden zur Faltenbehandlung mit Botulinumtoxin oder Hyaluronsäure, der PRP-Therapie unter Nutzung von Lasern und Needling sowie Ultraschall, auch bekannt als Vampire-Lift, sind vor allem (Säure- & Jet-)Peeling-, Laser-, Radiofrequenz-, Ultraschall- und kaltes Plasma im ästhetischen Leistungsangebot.

Der besondere Forschungs- und Klinikschwerpunkt von Prof. Paasch liegt in der Lasermedizin, auf die sich der Facharzt für Dermatologie bereits vor vielen Jahren spezialisiert hat.
Als Laserexperte bietet er seinen Patienten eine Vielzahl an lasergestützten Behandlungsmöglichkeiten. Dabei setzt Prof. Paasch in den Hautarztpraxen in Jesewitz und Taucha ausschließlich auf modernste, in Studien sorgfältig geprüfte Geräte der Hochleistungsmedizin.

Neben medizinischen Laserbehandlungen, wie beispielsweise Narbenkorrektur, der laser-assistierten photodynamischen Therapie (PDT), sind Behandlung gutartiger Neubildungen oder die vaginale Lasertherapie, kommt die Lasermedizin bei Prof. Paasch auch im Bereich der reinen Ästhetik mit zahlreichen Anwendungsmöglichkeiten zum Einsatz.

So veröffentlichte Prof. Uwe Paasch bislang mehr als 280 wissenschaftliche Artikel, über 50 Bücher und -einträge sowie zahlreiche Abstracts und Vorträge (h-Faktor 31 8.2020).

Zu den Forschungsschwerpunkten von Prof. Uwe Paasch zählen dabei vor allem Lasermedizin, ästhetische Medizin, die Laser-assisted-Drug-Delivery, Teledermatologie und lasergestützte Narbenbehandlungen.

Für seine Forschungsarbeiten erhielt Prof. Paasch zahlreiche Auszeichnungen. 2014 wurde Prof. Paasch der renommierte Laser-Innovationspreis der Deutschen Dermatologischen Lasergesellschaft verliehen. 2015 erhielt Prof. Paasch den Pso-Net-Preis für seine Teledermatologie-Studie und 2016 wurde Prof. Paasch außerdem mit dem Innovationspreis des Bundesverbands der Deutschen Dermatologen für das ‘Leipziger Telemedizinprojekt’ ausgezeichnet.

Darüber hinaus ist Prof. Paasch auf nationalen und internationalen Kongressen als geschätzter Referent im Einsatz. Dem erfahrenen Spezialisten für Dermatologie und Lasermedizin ist es ein besonders Anliegen sich regelmäßig mit Kollegen zu neuesten Entwicklungen auf dem Bereich der Dermatologie und Lasermedizin auszutauschen. Er ist Mitglied der Deutschen Dermatologischen Lasergesellschaft DDL und war deren Präsident von 2018-2020, der Europäischen Lasergesellschaft ESLD (Vizepräsident 2014-2018) und der amerikanischen Lasergesellschaft (ASLS) neben der Funktion des Verantwortlichen für Laser in der Deutschen Dermatologischen Akademie (DDA) seit 2004.
